ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

Over the past couple of years, Epsilon Gamma has raised over $2,000 through various events such as Strike Out Arthritis, Spike Out Arthritis, and paid homage to Camp AOII in our most recent philanthropy week with Summer Camp-inspired events. We donate 100% of the proceeds to the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation. We contribute to other local philanthropies with service at our university food bank, the Bear Panty, and Northern Colorado Humane Societies. This year, we also donated hand-made blankets to the Aurora Children's Hospital in hopes of making their stay a little more cozy.
